The Tops Diner in East Newark, NJ, is a New Jersey classic that serves up delicious American diner fare, baked goods, and cocktails. They have a huge menu that includes Brunch, Lunch, Dinner, and Late-Night options. After visiting the diner many times, I’ve found that my absolute favorite appetizer is firecracker shrimp. It’s crispy shrimp coated in our house-made spicy sriracha aioli, chili crisp, green onion, fresno chiles, and napa cabbage. Then comes my favorite main course: short rib. It’s served with Gruyere cheese, vidalia onions, 6-hour braised beef short ribs, demi-glace sauce, and chives. For dessert, you can’t go wrong with the tiramisu here. No matter what you choose to order, I highly recommend using Opentable to book a reservation beforehand so you can skip the line and enjoy an amazing experience. Tops Diner is a fantastic spot for great food, whether you’re dining alone or with friends.
